SATURDAY: Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre Hosts Medication Take-Back Day

What do you do with left over Rx drugs

Leaving unused and expired medications around the house can lead to mix ups (and take up space), tossing them out can result in misuse and are dangerous for the environment and flushing them is bad for the water supply… so what do you do with unused medication?

On Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre will partner with the Chesterfield County Police Department and SAFE to host the annual Medication Take-Back Day. Last year 1,029 pounds of medication was collected (that’s a lot of little pills!).

Bring your unused or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and/or veterinary medications in their original containers to be disposed of safely. Due to state and federal law, medications with needles will not be accepted.

So it’s time to clean out that medicine cabinet and drop off all that stuff at Medicine Take-Back Day… you’ll be helping the environment, preventing misuse and decluttering a bit all in one trip!
