Richmond This Week: September 28 – October 4, 2015

Looking for something to do with the kids in Richmond, Va? Start here for a great list of free cheap and low cost events and activities for kids and families.

RichmondThis Week

What’s this? October is here? Fall is official?! The UCI race is over?!! Where does the time go?

Am I the only parent who breathes a sigh of relief that we’ve made it through September? Once October comes around, we have finally gotten comfortable with the back-to-school thing… now the ball really starts rolling. October is busy, busy, busy with lots of great events coming up and the first Saturday of the month is no exception. We’ve got a great list of family festivals coming up so keep an eye on your inbox for our weekly newsletter.

I hope you like the dirt because this weekend is filled with dirt-related kid stuff. My heart is torn, do we dig for dinos? Discover archeology or go and see a real actual digger?! I’m a boy-mom-deer-in-headlights with all the awesome events on Saturday.

I say dirt, but I should really say mud because it looks like a wet week ahead. Definitely a good week to check out a story time at the local library. Of course you can head outside anyway… mud pies anyone?

A lot of local business have taken a big hit this past week with the UCI World Championships scaring away local customers.  Make an effort to head out to your favorite local business, thank them for making Richmond great and help them recover from a rough one.

Have a great week!
