Carving pumpkins is a lot of fun… but it also tends to involve a lot of sharp objects and a huge mess. I remember finding myself carving pumpkins late at night with my husband after my toddlers were asleep because their attention span/impulsiveness/over excitement about all things messy made pumpkin carving less of a fun family activity than I had imagined. And while late night pumpkin carving since became a tradition for me and my husband, I like to get the kids involved with some decorating too.
