Each year Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens puts on an incredible show with over a half-a-million lights on 30 acres during the Dominion GardenFest of Lights. This year’s theme is H2Woah and will be showcasing water in all its forms.
Lewis Ginter is giving new meaning to “rain or shine” with twinkling thunderstorms and fluffy storm clouds above the walkways giving way to a rainbow of light. A deep blue sea will be bright with ocean life, the rose garden will be warm with yellow lights, and the Tea House will be a frozen landscape with snow and ice. Inside visitors will be able to explore a rainforest, winter wonderland and the ocean floor. If you get chilly you can warm up with a fire, hot chocolate and toasty s’mores. Nightly family activities, holiday decor and model trains complete the event to make this a full and fun evening for everyone.
Last year’s theme was all about bicycles (read our review here) perfect for the UCI World Championships.
The GardenFest of Lights will kick off on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 5:00pm with the grand illumination. GardenFest of Lights will run Nov. 27, 2015 – Jan. 11, 2016. (Closed Dec. 24 & 25) Nightly 5 – 10 p.m.
