As parents, we want to treasure the moments we get with our children. From the moment they are born until they leave the nest, we want to take care of them. However, real life gets in the way and it becomes hard to savor the time that we have with them. When your children are born, they are dependent upon you and therefore are always with you. Their needs keep you busy and it becomes hard to slow down. As they grow older, your children slowly start to do things without you. They go to school, play at a friend’s house, go to camps, and etc. We might spend more time driving them around to the various activities rather than simplifying the schedules a bit and slowing down. At the blink of an eye, they have grown. In the eyes of the law, your children are adults. However, in you heart, they are still the baby that laughed so hard when you played peek-a-boo with them. It seems like every year, we have more and more tools to keep our busy schedules going. If you get a chance, perhaps consider slowing down to enjoy the stage that your kids are in.
