Get your swimsuits and round up your friends because RVA Polar Plunge is back!  Come make a splash with the Special Olympics of Virginia at Willow Lawn on February 25th for the annual RVA Polar Plunge Fest.

The festivities start at 12pm with games provided by LevelUp Rentals, music, and vendors on the Square. Join us for the Red Carpet Costume Contest at 2pm. Put your best foot forward and bring your wackiest costume to win a gift card from a participating merchant!  Plunging kicks off at 2:30 pm with our celebrity emcee, Bill Bevins from Star 100.9. Then after, join 103.7 Play to shake off the chills at American Tap Room.

Special Olympics Virginia focuses on health, by providing athletes opportunities to attend the Urban Med Fest at VCU Children’s Hospital and the Healthy Athlete Center at the University of Richmond at our Summer Games. The Urban Med Fest was a resounding success helping 120 athletes become or remain eligible for Special Olympics participation this school year while dozens more will receive important follow-up care. Med Fest also provided 163 dental screenings that helped to identify 45 students requiring urgent follow up treatment. Special Olympics saved a life by identifying one RPS exceptional education student with undiagnosed and untreated diabetes.

RVA Plunge is a fun and unique way to raise money for the Special Olympics so that health programs can be provided FREE to athletes with intellectual disabilities.  Polar Plunge Winter Fest is free for the whole family, but there is a $100 minimum fundraising goal for any individual who wants to Plunge.  The more you raise, the cooler the prizes! Teams and organizations are also encouraged to join the event. So come on, in the water is fine. Sign up today at www.polarplunge.com!
