When a family loses a child through a miscarriage, stillbirth, or other means, it is a tragedy that impacts the whole family. Sometimes children just don’t let on, but they can take the news just as hard as anyone. In addition, children may have a tough time dealing with the situation as they may not fully understand why the loss happened. In this Share Saturday video, we see an 11-year-old boy who has experienced this unfortunate event but receives an amazing news that his mom is pregnant with a rainbow baby.
Hayden is your typical 11-year-old boy eager to open presents for Christmas. About 6 months ago, his family was devastated by the loss of twins. While the whole family took it hard, Hayden “took it especially hard, not able to understand why this was happening when he wanted to be a big brother so badly.” His mom was now pregnant with a rainbow baby (a rainbow baby is a baby born after a miscarriage, stillbirth or an infant or child’s death) and she wanted to share this special news with Hayden. She framed her sonogram and wrapped it up as a gift for him. When Hayden finally makes it to the sonogram, his reaction will melt your heart. He is overwhelmed by the news and begins to cry. We hope you enjoy this heartwarming video.
