Not only are we home to the Flying Squirrels baseball team, the Richmond Kickers soccer team, and countless college teams including Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Union, University of Richmond, and Virginia State University, but we are also the proud hosts of our very own professional American Arena League (AAL) team – the Richmond Roughriders.
All of our teams make us proud, but this year after another winning season, the Roughriders beat the Carolina Energy to secure their place in the AAL Championship game for the second year in a row. Despite trailing 29-22 in the third quarter, the Roughriders went on to win with a final score of 57-43, proving why they’re the favorite to win this year’s championship match up with the Atlanta Havoc.
The championship game will be hosted at the Richmond Coliseum at 7 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 – and the best part? We’re giving you a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to the game!
