Wow. What a crazy week it’s been – and it’s only Wednesday! As our readers know, we always publish upcoming events on Sunday. But thanks to Hurricane Florence making a more than unwelcome appearance, our weather – and our schedules – have been turned a bit topsy-turvy. With that in mind, we took a bit of a breather on events in order to allow for the many delays and rescheduled events that have come as a consequence of the storm. So while we might be a bit late this week, we hope to bring you the latest and greatest events and updates!
In the meantime, we want to take a moment to express our sincerest gratitude to the wide range of people throughout the Greater Richmond area that worked tirelessly through the past weekend, then through the chaos of the tornadoes of Monday, right up until now to keep us informed and safe. And so from us here at Richmond Mom to all of the amazing meteorologists, news reporters, administration, teachers, school bus drivers, emergency responders, and citizens who gave of their time and energy – we say thank you!
This weekend and Monday, in particular, were a harsh reminder of just how important it is to be prepared for anything and know how to keep our families safe in the event of an unexpected emergency or disaster. If you don’t already have family emergency preparations in place, we’re here to help. Be sure to check out our quick guide on How to Create A Family Emergency Plan and keep your family safe – no matter what evens head your way.
And now for the main event! While the list is a bit abbreviated compared to normal, you’ll find that there’s still no shortage of family fun here in Richmond throughout the remainder of the week.
