Family Camp is a casual, family-focused atmosphere full of summer camp fun for all ages.
Based on the popularity of their annual week-long Family Camp at the end of summer, Camp Friendship has created a Spring Family Camp over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 10 – 12. Celebrate Mother’s Day by surrounding yourself with your family, friends, and crisp Blue Ridge Mountain air. Camp Friendship hopes this weekend will help families enjoy a fresh new start and a change of pace during a particularly busy time of year.

At camp, everything goes back to a simpler time, which is particularly powerful in today’s plugged in world. Here at camp, genuine friendships, the glow of campfires and lifelong memories replace electronics. Campers who are lucky enough to call Camp Friendship their summer home may not know how to describe the ‘magic of camp’, but they must be doing something right when year after year they hear campers say “I wish I could stay here forever!”
Located just one hour from Richmond, Camp Friendship is surrounded by over 600 acres of scenic fields and forests, offering the perfect atmosphere for families to come together among the trees and under the stars.

Family Campers choose from a variety of summer favorites when it comes to activities: high ropes, tennis, canoeing, pottery, archery, horseback riding, and more! Night time fun will include campfires, s’mores, wine tasting for Moms and an awesome lawn party complete with a band, so it’s safe to say the fun won’t stop when the sun goes down!

Spring Family Camp Weekend runs over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 10 – 12, 2019. Lodging, meals and all campy activities are included for $200 per person. Kids under 4 stay for free.

About Camp Friendship: Sparked by the adventures childhood brings, Camp Friendship sets the benchmark for an exceptional overnight camp experience. Established in 1966 by Chuck Ackenbom, Camp Friendship is still proudly run by the Ackenbom family today. We take pride in being accredited by the American Camp Association, and each summer we welcome campers ages 7-16 to their home away from home in Palmyra, Virginia.
