Each spring and fall, Richmond area foodies look forward to Richmond Restaurant Week. Richmond Restaurant Week is a week-long event in which dozens of Richmond-area restaurants feature a special, three-course prix fixe menu for a set price, often lower than what a normal three-course meal at these establishments might cost.
For many of us, restaurant week is a chance to try out new restaurants, sample new menus, and get a good deal at places we might not normally include in our budget. However, for thousands of children, adults, and seniors in need in Richmond, Restaurant Week means healthy meals all year long.
Restaurant Week does more than offer great food at great prices, it also raises money for FeedMore, a local hunger relief organization that provides everything from Meals on Wheels for seniors to a Mobile Food Pantry to “Weekend Backpacks” to ensure proper food supply for school children when school is out over the weekend. This year, Restaurant Week menus are priced at $29.19 per person, with $4.19 of that going directly to FeedMore. Every year, the event raises more than $140,000 in desperately needed funds, and provides more than 495,000 healthy meals for children, families, and seniors in need throughout Central Virginia.
For Spring Restaurant Week 2019, which launched Monday, April 22 and will continue through Sunday, April 28, nearly 40 Richmond-area restaurants will be participating. Below, we’ve made a list of participating restaurants, including many that offer kids’ menus.
But before you begin, here are a couple of tips to keep in mind:
- Not all restaurants are participating the same days. Some will only be offering their prix fixe menu through Saturday, April 27, so be sure to check the dates first or call ahead.
- Places will fill up quickly! Be sure to visit your favorite places online to make reservations or call the numbers listed below.
- Double-check that the kids’ menu is being offered before heading out with the whole family. If kids’ menus are not available during restaurant week, but you find a new favorite, then you’ll be that much more excited to take the kids’ back another time!
