Meet Former US Men’s National Team Goalkeeper, Jon Busch!

Jon Busch is coming to Richmond! Busch will be conducting a two-day elite goalkeeper camp for ages 9-19 years old on May 18 and 19, 2019 with Richmond Goalkeeping Academy. However, in addition to leading the two-day camp, the Richmond Goalkeeping Academy also be hosting Busch for a public Meet and Greet on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 5:45pm-7pm at Sports Reality Indoor Facility in Mechanicsville, VA. During the event, Busch will be speaking briefly, doing a Q & A, taking photos, and signing autographs.
Jon Busch 1Busch is a recently retired 21-year Pro Major League Soccer and former US Men’s National Team goalkeeper. His prior professional experience began in Virginia Beach in the early 2000’s with former United Soccer League semi-professional soccer team, the Hampton Roads Mariners, and he later went on to play professionally with the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, and San Jose Earthquakes. 
Richmond Goalkeeping Academy owner and founder, Amanda Forester has spent the last ten years building one of the Richmond area’s strongest goalkeeper training programs, with many of her students going on to play at D1, D2, D3 Collegiate levels, as well as on elite travel teams and both state and national teams. As a long time friend and colleague of Busch, she is excited to be able to offer his skill and experience to the Richmond community. 
“I have played many times in Richmond and always enjoyed interacting with the soccer community there.  Once I met Amanda and saw what she is building there in the Goalkeeper community I wanted to be a part of it.” said Busch, “I loved being a goalkeeper and goalkeeping is my passion.  So now it’s all about teaching the next generation of goalkeepers.”
Meet and Greet tickets will be $5 each with the proceeds going to youth camp programs put on by the Navy Seal Foundation. Camp SPECOPS and similar youth camps provide a leadership camp experience for children of active and fallen US Navy Seals.
“I have been working with the Navy Seal Foundation for 8 years now.  It is a way for me to say thank you to these special warriors and their families.  Because of their sacrifices I was able to play the game I love as a professional for 21-years,” said Busch.
The Meet and Greet will be open to the public, so be sure to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to meet one of the nation’s leading goalkeepers. Tickets can be purchased online at or onsite at the event. Cash and credit will be accepted.
