If your kids are like most kids, they probably already have a countdown going until school is out and summer break is finally here. And if you’re anything like most parents, you’re already wondering how you’re going to keep everyone entertained for the next three months. While we can’t help you with ALL of the summer hours, we can definitely help you with some – thanks to Richmond City Parks and Recreation’s FREE summer movies in the park!
Every Friday this summer, from June until August, you and your family can grab your chairs and blankets and head out for a free movie at various Richmond City parks. Just like previous years, activities will start at 8pm and movies will play at 8:30pm (or as soon as it gets dark). All movies are free and refreshments will be available for sale. If the weather doesn’t cooperate and a movie is cancelled, it will be rescheduled for the following Monday, so be sure to keep an eye on the schedule on the city’s Facebook page.
The free summer movie series will be kicking off on June 21, 2019, so check out the complete lineup below and mark your calendars now. Of course, movies aren’t all that the Parks and Recreation Department will be offering this season, so be sure to download their full Spring and Summer Program Guide here for camps, programs, and activities all summer long.
