As parents, we all have our own unique struggles. But there’s one challenge we all share – dealing with our kids’ music. At one time, Barney was the bane of our existence. Then came The Wiggles and Kidz Bop. Fast forward to today and it’s “Baby Shark” that haunts our dream. This is a song that is the delight of children everywhere and one that parents can’t get out of their heads no matter how hard they try.
Of course, there was a time when, at the very least, we, as parents, could control how and when our kids listened to music, whether in the car or at home. Then along came Alexa – that handy little home helper that is supposed to answer nearly anything we ask her and perform basic commands on demand. This, of course, now means that all our kids have to do to broadcast their favorite songs throughout the house is ask Alexa.
The one remaining challenge, however, is getting Alexa to understand what is being asked of her. This means that when you have a toddler who isn’t always coherent, a battle with Alexa is bound to ensue. The end result is a frustrated toddler and the only way to make it stop is to step in and just let Alexa play “Baby Shark” already…right?
In theory, this sounds like a no-win situation. But today’s Share Saturdays video reminds us that no matter how annoying some kids’ music can be, watching our kids respond to it makes it all worth while. In this too-sweet-for-words video, watch as a little girl tries to get Alexa to play “Baby Shark” and then watch her amazing response when her mom finally steps in and makes the magic happen. It’s bound to put a smile on your face and make getting “Baby Shark” stuck in your head for the rest of the day more than worth it.
