Hallmark has been the go-to for greeting cards for generations. Known for their often sappy, frequently cliche sentiments, Hallmark cards can be a bit over the top for someone like me who prefers to make awkward jokes rather than express actual feelings. But then they drop a bombshell like this Mother’s Day commercial and it’s like they somehow got into my head and said ALL the things…all of them. Basically, they’ve summed up motherhood from start to finish in just a few short moments – and trust me, they got it all right.
Motherhood is a roller coaster. It’s messy and exhausting and funny and sad and infuriating and exhilarating all at once. Motherhood often puts us in one phase only to leave us longing for the next one – then sends us into a spiral of wishing we could just have a few more moments back in the phases we were so ready to leave behind. And that’s just it. Motherhood is a constant paradox of emotions.
