There’s no denying that our summer is starting off a bit differently than in previous years. Not only are many of our usual attractions and activities off-limits due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’re all experiencing a continued alteration of our daily schedules. But in spite of it all, our local farmers and producers have remained hard at work to ensure that even if the world is upside down, we still have access to locally sourced, sustainably grown fresh fruits and vegetables, along with other artisan goods. And it’s because of their hard work that one thing we don’t have to say good bye to this summer and fall is our local farmers market.
With so many farms and growers throughout the Greater Richmond area, we are fortunate to have a choice of farmers markets. And with farmers markets available nearly every day of the week, you’ll have no trouble finding a market that not only offers fresh produce, fruits, and locally-sourced goods, but fits your schedule, as well.
COVID-19 Updates for Richmond Farmers Markets:
While many farmers markets are opening this year, there are, naturally, some required changes. To help you navigate these changes, we’ve updated our popular Farmers Market Guide with new dates, times, and locations (if applicable), as well as a new section of COVID-19 Guidelines being enforced at each location. In addition, many farmers markets have established pre-order methods and now offer drive-through pick-up options. We’ve included information for pre-ordering (where available) so that you can safely pick-up your fresh produce.
Keep in mind that for the time being, many markets will be suspending special events and extra activities on-site, but be sure to check back as restrictions loosen to enjoy all of your favorite farmers market activities!

COVID-19 Guidelines: Vendors will be spaced adequately for social distancing. One-way pedestrian traffic with specific entrance and exit points have been set up with a hand sanitizing station at the entrance. Please park near the entrance to the bus loop (unmarked spaces, but room for quite a few cars) or on the street. The Henry Clay Elementary parking lot will be for vendors only. Face coverings are required for both vendors and customers.

COVID-19 Guidelines: Please reserve the hour between 8am and 9am for those 65 and older. Vendors’ displays will be minimal, and customers should limit themselves to one person per booth while those in line wait six feet away. Be prepared to pay with a card whenever possible.
