Mystery Makers Kids Online One-Day Writers Camp

July 9, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on August 4, 2020 at 9:00am

During these unusual times with many traditional in-person camps canceled or uncertain, online virtual camps are a great alternative to keep kids busy, learning, and having fun. Whether your emerging writer is determined to be the next JK Rowling, or just looking for a way to expand their creativity and imagination, MYSTERY MAKERS is the place for you.

Middle grade authors Steven K. Smith (The Virginia Mysteries) and Lana Krumwiede (Freakling) are partnering on a new SINGLE-DAY virtual writers camp for kids ages 8 through 12. This three hour session will lead campers through writing exercises, creativity games, and lessons about how to write a great story. We’ll cover topics like description, rough drafts, characters, and we’ll even build our own mystery together!

All camp sessions will be virtual, conducted online through Zoom, so kids can participate from the comfort of their homes. Space is limited so act fast and grab a spot at either of the two dates, July 9 (afternoon) and August 4 (morning) before they’re all gone. We’d love to have your child (ages 8 through 12) be a part of this fun session!
