The Richmond Shakespeare Festival is celebrating its 21st season in 2019 with two amazing performances at the beautiful Agecroft Hall & Gardens in Richmond, VA.
June 6th-June 30th – The Tempest
July 6 – The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr
July 11-August 4 – The Taming of the Shrew
The Richmond Shakespeare Festival is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, as each production is performed in the courtyard of Agecroft Hall, the authentic Tudor home built in the 16th century and brought over from Lancashire, England to Richmond in 1926. There’s nothing else like it on the East coast!
The grounds open at 6pm for pre-show picnickers. Feel free to bring a blanket and a picnic dinner, and enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding Agecroft, as well as the spectacular view from the Bluff. As you dine, members of Lord Moxley’s Players, the Festival Young Company, will stroll the grounds and entertain you with Shakespearean monologues, sonnets, and songs.
