Henrico Library Summer Reading Program: Explore a Universe of Stories!

Henrico Library's 2019 Summer Reading challenge, A Universe of Stories, makes it easier than ever to earn rewards for indulging your curiosity. The challenge launches June 3 and runs Beginning Monday, June 3, you can visit henricolibrary.org/summerreading to create an account, or stop by the library to pick up a paper log, pencil, bookmark, and your choice of an enamel pin or balsa glider when you sign up. What did a Powhatan child do for fun during the 17th century? In our re-created Powhatan settlement of Arrohateck, campers will explore the environment and life of Pocahontas and the culture of the Powhatan people through demonstrations, activities, and arts and crafts. Hands-on activities include cooking, farming, archery, music and dancing, engineering, canoe scraping, fish net weaving, and pottery. Make-and-take crafts included.
