Yep, it’s time again to get ramped up for our monthly Wine Down Wednesday with Richmondmom.com and DowntownShortPump.com. Come join us on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 from 6:30-9:30 at The Wine Loft in West Broad Village. Typically we have Wine Downs the first Wednesday of every month; this month we’re hosting it the second Weds! Please take note.
If you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat. Here’s why:
1) Cool people will be there.
People who care about fundraising for this month’s non-profit, The Virginia Eye Institute Foundation. The Foundation is the backbone of the Institute, and provides the vision for benefiting the community, particularly for patients who cannot afford to obtain quality care.
Great appetizers are provided with discounted wines, and we’ll give you an extra raffle ticket for each entry. Our special guest will be Ethnie S. Jones, M.D. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in general ophthalmology. Bio continued below*

Would you like to have a $150 gift certificate to the Virginia Eye Institute optical shop? Or a $25 Starbucks Gift card? Then come on out for Wine Down Wednesday on November 9 and you may win a raffle with these great prizes along with lots of other great give-aways.
2) The Wine Loft Richmond is the shizzle. It’s a cozy atmosphere that allows for networking. Bring a friend. Or come alone, we’ll introduce you around.
3) We give stuff away. That’s right. . .for every entry fee we give you a raffle ticket; additional tickets may be purchased for $1 (so bring lots of dollars!). We give away photography gift certificates, Richmond Rocks books and generally cool prizes you will surely put to use. Midas of Richmond’s Mark Smith will also be there selling–get this, for $20–oil change AND inspection coupons! All funds raised will be split between these two great Richmond non-profits.
4) Why do we do this? ‘Cause women need a night to Wine Down. Why not the 1st Wednesday of each month? We’ve raised $650+ each month in just a few hours at each Wine Down Wednesday at the Wine Loft. What a great way to relax & help out a good Richmond non-profit.

*Note: Dr. Jones specializes in general ophthalmology. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Jones received her Doctorate of Medicine from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed her residency in ophthalmology and internship in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology.
