Green Monkey Catering is introducing Richmond to an event that is sure to become a Richmond tradition. Their first “Mother Daughter Tea and Tasting” is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m in the afternoon.
The event is hosted by Lisa Granger, professional chef at Green Monkey, and she is joined by Patricia Guillouard Adams, owner and Master Tea Blender of Carytown Teas. It will be held at the magnificent Glave Kocen Galleries in Richmond (located at 1620 West Main Street, Richmond, VA).
“This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for mothers and their daughters to enjoy a wonderful experience with teas from regions around the world, complemented with fresh, natural food,” explains Lisa.
The menu for the February tea and tasting includes:
Tasting Menu
Grand Marnier Infused Strawberries Dipped in Chocolate
Heart Shaped Strawberry Basil Scones w/Strawberry Cream
English Tea Sandwiches
Cheddar Cheese Straws and Fruit
Goat Cheese Chocolate Truffles
Teas
Black Rose
Chocolate Lovers
Plum Oolong
Mother’s Bouquet
“Learning about the enjoyment of a formal tea itself and using good manners is part of the experience. But learning more about teas of the world and enjoying natural, fresh tea sandwiches, pastries, and other delicious foods is another aspect,” according to Lisa. “We’ll also have some sweet surprises for everyone!”
The event is limited to 40 reservations so it’s important to reserve your seats as soon as possible. Once capacity is reached, reservations will be closed for this event. But don’t worry – it is a monthly event. And, Lisa is planning a full brunch and special event for May to coincide with Mother’s Day weekend and there will be more about that on the Green Monkey website soon.
Reserve your seats now by calling 804.740.6659 (outside normal business hours, leave a message for a callback within 24 hours). The event is appropriate for children age 6 and older. Tickets are $15 per person for children and adults (3 or more tickets are just $13 per person). Reservations are accepted up until Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Noon or until seating capacity is reached.
