February is Heart Health Month and HCA Virginia Health Systems is doing their part to help everyone be more heart healthy! It all kicks off on February 1, 2013 with Go Red Day across the country and everyone wearing red as a reminder of the importance of heart health.

Join HCA VA each week for heart-healthy screenings and events. Choose the date and location that work best for you, or attend them all. Participate in a health screening, talk to a doctor or nurse about your questions and concerns, dance all day, attend a seminar, and just have good healthy fun. There’s something for everyone.

Gather your friends and family for a day that is all about dance at a Day of Dance. We’re helping you find new ways to stay active and learn something new in the process! Ever wanted to learn how to tango or cha-cha? Are you curious about that Zumba™ class your friend has been taking? Come out to any one of our twelve participating locations. This event boasts a high-energy day of dancing, heart health screenings, opportunities to ask-a-doc and more. All activities are free, open to the public and many have offerings for all ages with discounted child care available in some locations.
Free health screenings include blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), cholesterol and blood sugar. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to talk with a doctor or nurse about their health concerns.
