Hallowed Cuteness for Halloween: Part Deux

Although I only recently wrote about my boys spending Halloween this year as Zombies, apparently Zombies were soooo last week.  Initially, I wasn’t a fan of my kids becoming card carrying members of a Zombie apocalypse; however, the idea was growing on me.   Then, the day before Halloween, a friend suggested that my oldest dress as a skateboarder, and just like that, I introduce you to Avril Lavigne’s Sk8r Boi.

Halloween2013He donned some gnarly shorts, knee and wrist pads and completed the outfit with a skid lid (helmet) and of course, a skateboard.  One direct benefit was that he was able to more efficiently score some good candy, and he had knee protection when he wiped out on someone’s driveway (sans skateboard).  Zombie walks tend to slow you down, dude.  Because staying in character on Halloween is critical, right?

My youngest also switched gears, but just revisited an earlier idea – a skeleton, again, the day before Halloween.  But make no bones about it; my husband was determined to find the last skeleton costume in Richmond on Halloween (he went to 5 stores before he succeeded, hence, a skeleton costume that is at least 2 sizes too small).

Did your kids dress up for Halloween?  If so, what costumes did they wear? And, if your youngsters have outgrown trick-or-treating, do you have a favorite costume from over the years and why was it your favorite?
