Relationships are hard. There are days when everything with the world seems right and your relationship seems perfect. However, there are also days when nothing goes right and you question the relationship that you are in. The word love gets used to show affection to so many things that perhaps it has lost its potent meaning. We use the three words, “I love you” for our significant other, but do we really know what that means? We have a song that asks some tough questions about love.
Brian Nhira, a contestant on The Voice in season 10, was on a trip to attend his friend’s wedding. While at the airport, he was struck by the love of an elderly couple. The wife has health issues and could not move or speak on her own. Her husband was by her side and doting on her. The husband’s deep love for his wife truly touched Brian’s heart and inspired him to write a song that asks tough questions about love. The song is called, “Would You Still Love Me”. You might need to have some tissues ready!
Here is the music video for the song and the lyrics are below:

Sitting in the airport terminal I noticed an elderly couple. The wife was in a wheel chair and it was evident that she couldn't speak or move on her own. As drool dripped from her mouth, her husband wiped it away.In that moment, I was confronted with the reality that I was getting ready to witness the wedding of my good friend and his bride who are both young and full of life. They would soon commit to loving each other for the rest of their lives without a clue as to the circumstances the future would bring. As I continued to observe the elderly couple, in that airport terminal, I began to think of how at one point in their lives they stood at the altar, both full of life, but somewhere along the line… something happened. It is that experience that birthed "Would you still love me?"I hope you enjoy this song and music video. I would love to hear your stories of love in the comments. Please be sure to share this and tag your friends in comments.

“WOULD YOU STILL LOVE ME?”
By Brian Nhira (c) 2017
Verse 1:
What if I couldn’t speak
What if I couldn’t eat
What if I couldn’t move
Would you still love me?
Verse 2:
What if my body ached
And I always made you late
What if I couldn’t wait
Would you still love me?
Chorus:
Would you love me when it’s hard
When our life’s fallen apart
When the things that we once knew are long gone
When our blue skies turn to grey
And my memory fades away
Would you still love me?
Would you still love me?
Verse 3:
What if I’m complicated
Always leaving you frustrated
Nothing ever went quite right
Would you still love me?
Wish I could let you know what the future holds
but that’s a promise I can’t make
through the good and bad happy and sad
loves a risk that we must take
Bridge:
If I could speak again
I’d ask you to remember when
We first met and fell in love
We were so young and dumb
But our love was so strong
Memories of those late nightstands
Are what fuel this fight
Chorus:
Would you love me when it’s hard
When our life’s fallen apart
When the things that we once knew are long gone
When our blue skies turn to grey
And my memory fades away
Would you still love me?
Would you still love me?
