I suppose we shouldn’t have doubted the groundhog.
If we get as much snow as hype this week you’ll need this list we made last year of great spots to go sledding in Richmond. We also have a few egg carton crafts and if you stock up on milk, only to get an inch of snow you may want this list too. Whether you stay in or go out, please remember to bundle up. It’s seriously cold out there and if it does snow, you may want to call ahead to make sure these events are still happening.
Keep an eye out for events marked *FREE to save a little green, but there are lots of cheap and low cost events this week. Click on the link to get the details and scroll all the way down for all the information. If you’d like to view our whole calendar of events you can do that here.

About the Hilliard House:
Hilliard House assists homeless women and their children to build their capacity to live productively within the community. Hilliard House not only provides immediate, on-site shelter and services, but also works to places families into permanent housing in the community as quickly as possible, thus shortening stays in shelter or, in many cases, eliminating shelter stays altogether. Research shows that this “rapid rehousing” approach is a more effective way to address homelessness and based on the principle that when people are in stable housing, other parts of their lives also stabilize. Most clients are provided basic supplies and goods to help them transition into their new lives. DIY volunteers will be decorating bags and boxes to transport these items and provide some much needed cheer and encouragement.
