The Annual Model Railroad Train Show is back at the Science Museum of Virginia Thanksgiving weekend!
We are not big Black Friday shoppers so coming to the Model Railroad Train Show has become a Thanksgiving tradition for our family. While there’s usually at least one train-obsessed child in our house, there’s also something to please everyone throughout the museum. The kids can stare at all the different model trains for hours, learn about the science of trains in the Challenge Lab and head outside to the tracks to check out the real historic train cars.
This year we plan on splitting up so the older kids can go on a cosmic expedition and check out the temporary exhibit Alien Worlds and Androids, or watch some live science demonstrations and the younger kids can ride the Teddybear Express (Friday only) or go visit the Clydesdale horses… (Although realistically we’ll be spending a lot of time checking out the trains in the rotunda.)
The Model Railroad Show is included with exhibit admission.
Tickets are $11 with $1 discounts for ages 4-12 and 60+.
