We are pleased to announce the return of the Model Railroad Show! Visit Thanksgiving weekend to watch as model trains travel through detailed dioramas and layouts. You won’t want to miss some of our new layouts or our old favorites that families enjoy year after year. This year, we’re also featuring workshops, led by model railroad enthusiasts to help you start your own layout and explore the science behind this family tradition. Included with exhibit admission.
THE POLAR EXPRESS

Special Limited Engagement in the IMAXDOME!
On Christmas Eve, a boy lays in his bed, waiting for Santa Claus to come, unsure whether to believe in Santa. Finally he nods off to sleep, only to be awakened by the sound of a steam train outside. He runs outside and sees a train, The Polar Express, and meets the conductor. The conductor tells the boy that the train will take him to the North Pole and the boy decides to get on.
Join us as a doubting boy boards a magical train that’s headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus’s home. This holiday classic will be featured every afternoon at 2 pm. $8.50

FLIGHT NIGHT
Friday, December 17, 5-8 pm
Enjoy an evening of flight with IMAX® presentations, hands-on activities and more! Explore the beginning of aviation by checking out a life-size replica of the Wright Brothers’ 1902 glider; learn how planes fly by building and flying your own paper airplane and ring glider; find out how Daniel Bernoulli’s and Sir Isaac Newton’s work relates to flight.
Also, when it is dark, join members of the Richmond Astronomical Society on the museum’s front lawn for Sky Watch as they share their powerful telescopes for a look at the night sky. Weather permitting.
Ticket Prices: $10 includes 1 Live Sky Presentation, Exhibits, all activities & Destination Universe.
Legends of Flight is $5.
