Join the Nonprofit 36 Hour Online Challenge with the Amazing Raise

Join the Amazing Raise for your nonprofit choice.

Do you ever wish you could find a way to give back and pay it forward in a big way? Now you can.

The Amazing Raise 2011 is a unique way to do just that. By simply giving online to the nonprofit of your choice, you can give money to support local nonprofits during the 36 hour fund-raising event. It all starts at 6:00 a.m. on October 5 and runs through October 6 at 6:00 p.m.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Go online to GiveRichmond and choose your favorite nonprofit.
  2. Donate online to give the organization a chance to win up to $10,000!

The first 20 organizations to receive donations of $50 or more from 50 unique donors will receive a grant prize of $2,500. The top three organizations to receive the most donations of $50 or more will receive the grand prizes, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.

Each hour throughout the event, a donor will be randomly chosen and his/her original donation (up to $500) will be doubled!

Organizations also have a chance to win other bonus prizes like The Midnight Madness prize for the organization receiving the most donations closest to midnight on October 6.

Gifts are processed through GiveRichmond.org which is an online resource and community-wide giving program administered by The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia.

The event is open to the public and donations are accepted exclusively on GiveRichmond.org.

This is an incredible opportunity to support the nonprofit of your choice and help them raise money for services. The event has raised more than $1 million in a single day in other metropolitan areas.

Let’s show them what Richmond can do!
