Miller & Rhoads Charity Christmas Tree Contest Lights Up Downtown

Richmondmom.com is proud and honored to sponsor a Christmas Tree for Family Lifeline at the Miller & Rhoads Charity Christmas Tree Contest.  Forty local charitable organizations are filling the incredible plate-glass windows of this historic building with lights of hope and beauty this holiday season. Each tree is decorated by volunteers from the charities, and then entered into a contest that decides which lucky charity will win the $1,000 grand prize.

The winning tree is chosen by a panel of judges and by the people of Virginia together. The decision of the panel of judges counts for only a percentage of the contest’s point structure – the rest is up to the people so you can vote for your favorite tree online.

There are two important dates to remember for this event:

December 6, 2011

At 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 501 E. Broad Street, Richmond, VA, the paper will be pulled from the windows to unveil the 50 beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Then at 7:00 p.m., Radio Disney brings entertainment for family fun. There will be free hot chocolate in the hotel lobby and a FREE trolley ride around downtown to see the lights.

January 6, 2012

At 7:00 p.m., winners will be announced and prizes awarded. At 9:00 p.m., the Charity Tree Auction begins. It will be a spectacular night!

Be sure and check out all of the beautifully decorated trees, and support the Richmondmom.com Family Lifeline tree when  you vote.
