When we start complaining about children’s art and the most appropriate places to display it, it’s time to re-prioritize, Richmond.
A recent post in The Cheats Movement explains the controversy surrounding larger-than-life artworks by Richmond-area youth, made possible through an amazing organization, Art 180.

effort, Art 180 has been ordered to remove their larger-than-life portraits from Monument Avenue, despite their hard work to obtain proper permits.
According to Marlene Paul, co-founder and executive director:
Despite the enormous outpouring of positive comments we’ve heard about our Monument Avenue exhibition–and the great photo on the front page of yesterday’s Times-Dispatch, we have been ordered to remove them by Friday.
Full disclosure: I’ve promoted Art180 on this site (pro bono), donated to this organization, and believe in their creative programs for Richmond youth. Who wouldn’t support an organization that helps Richmond youth in challenge circumstances express themselves through creativity?
Come on, Richmond, we have bigger problems to solve like crime, drugs, murder, joblessness, and struggling businesses. Let’s not let our city government waste time on a non-issue.
