A Real Richmond Review: UniverSoul was Fantastic

Real Richmond Review by Sarah Pless

My husband and I took our two young daughters to the UniverSoul Circus in Richmond this past weekend (thanks RichmondMom.com!).  I have to admit, we were a bit skeptical about the production, as we had only been to Ringling Brothers circuses in the past.

Our skepticism was unnecessary as this was one FANTASTIC circus!

They pumped us up with two local Richmond high school bands battling through pop songs, and kept the music going throughout the show.  Each act had us on the edge of our seats, although I have to admit that I was terrified while watching the contortionists!

There were several death-defying acts with no nets or mats to catch the performers in place.  My daughters got a big kick out of the elephant rides during the intermission (though Daddy stayed far away).  The show was more focused on human acrobatics and tricks rather than animal stunts, but they did have a tiger act long with the elephants.

Overall, it was the best show we’ve ever seen at a circus, and we will definitely be back next year!

Thanks for the review Sarah!
