I dare you to move. . .

Kate Willoughby Hall, Richmondmom.com Founder, dreamer.

Every once in a while a simple song on the radio inspires me to dream big(ger).

No matter what’s happened in the past, each day is waiting for us to grab it by the horns and pull it. Or, to allow us to saunter through it. And hopefully not pull the sheets over our heads and hide from it.

Sometimes life is just overhwhelming. The kids, the business, the job, the birthdays and school events, the doctor’s appointments and the housework. Blah-blah-blah. The toilet paper roll is empty, we’re out of milk, the floor needs mopping.

Sometimes it gets a little crazy, knocks us down, and we–or at least I–get lost in the commotion. What happens next–is it time to work on my next dream yet? So I’m going to play this song each morning as I (hopefully-ok maybe-possibly) go out for a run, start my Ipod, and ask myself: am I gonna finally get to see my girlfriends today, write a book, run a race? Where’s my big adventure? What happens next? Who am I now, who could I be? I hope you find your best existence. I dare you to move.

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before–Switchfoot
