The Science Museum of Virginia is suited up for space, while CMoR Central is showcasing the Zula Patrol. Wine festivals, pumpkin festivals, Pink Ribbon events, and more are all gearing up for a rockin’ weekend in Richmond. Let us know if there are others and we’ll add them here.

FUNdraising Event for Earthquake Relief in Mineral and Louisa – As you are aware Louisa, Virginia was the epicenter of the August 23rd earthquake. This tragic event destroyed schools, and damaged/demolished homes, businesses and churches. So far, the damages are totaling ninety one million dollars with new reports of damage coming in daily. Help raise funds for those who need it and have family fun too.

National Lunch Week – “School Lunch – Let’s Grow Healthy” will help students understand where food comes from while highlighting the overall benefit that school lunch helps kids grow strong and healthy. The NSLW 2011 theme provides the opportunity to try something new and promote locally sourced foods. From a harvest-of-the-month menu to a school garden to a meet-the-farmer educational presentation and much more, there’s a farm-to-school model or activity that can fit the needs of any school or district! Harvest Festival – Enjoy this annual day of exciting and traditional harvest time festivities as we commemorate Henrico County’s 400th Anniversary at Crump Park. The festival will feature many hands-on activities and demonstrations depicting typical homemaking and farming tasks of the era. Some of these exciting activities include cider making, candle dipping, bee keeping, cornhusking, corn shelling, blacksmithing, woodworking, and a natural dye demonstration.
