Kids love Technology? ID Tech Camps Teach Creative App Design, Gaming and More

Do you ever wish you had a place where your kids could really learn about computers and not just play on them? Not just the IM, email and music stuff – but real computer knowledge that helps them learn, grow and excel in school and in life.

Then you are going to love iD Tech Camps. These are state-of-the-art summer computer camps that teach children incredible computer skills in a safe, secure and nurturing environment.  Their adult-only staff are tech-savvy undergraduates, graduate students, professionals, and others who are passionate about all aspects of computer design. They utilize both PCs and MACs, so there is something for everyone.

The best news?

They’re right in our backyard. That’s right – iD Tech Camps are offered at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Just a short drive and kids ages 7-17 can engage in valuable computer training while you explore history and shop! They offer both summer day camps and overnight camps.

You will be amazed at what they offer to students:

  • Video game design
  • iPhone app development
  • Flash animation, programming and editing
  • Much more!

They use the latest technology, tools, and products including Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, Google, Microsoft, and other reputable products.

Safety and Security

Parents will rest assured knowing that they measure camp effectiveness and success based on 4 critical factors:

  1. Risk management
  2. Happy campers
  3. Personalized attention
  4. Mixing traditional camp activities with visionary technology education

They are serious about learning too. That’s why they keep class sizes to an average of 8 or fewer students per instructor. This assures you that your child gets individualized attention for the greatest opportunity to learn and excel.

ACA Guidelines

iD Tech Camps meet and surpass many of the requirements set by The American Camp Association (ACA), which is a leading authority in camps and child development. ACA ensures camper safety, quality staff, healthy learning environments, and excellence.  And camps are accredited at various locations.

Safety is further ensured by strict rules at the camps. Adult staff supervise ALL summer camp classes, activities, dining, and boarding. Parents or guardians of commuting students will be asked to sign their students out each day and provide staff with a “code word” as well.

They use industry-leading Internet safety programs to ensure students do not access inappropriate sites.

Day & Overnight Youth Summer Camp
iD Tech offers kids and teen camps. The youngest students (ages 7-10) study together in Adventures in Game Design, Adventures in Programming or RPG Game Design & Graphic Arts Hybrid course (ages 9-12). They also have many summer camp courses designed just for teens as well as camp courses designed specifically for the 10-and-up age range.

They offer teen academies for students ages 13-18 including the iD Gaming Academy, the iD Visual Arts Academy, and the iD Programming Academy. Please view their courses page for more information.

Be sure and check out their Q&A on their website for more detailed information on their camps.

Fees and Enrollment

The fee for camps varies by the type of camp and other factors. They also offer a Refer-A-Friend program where you can save money. For example, you earn $50 for each NEW camper you refer who attends iD Tech Camps. You can save money by bringing friends along!

Now is the time to check out these camps and enroll your child(ren). Some of the weeks are already sold out.  Don’t miss this opportunity to help your child learn about computers in a unique and engaging environment that helps prepare him or her for the future.
