Stupid: A WORD THAT ANNOYS THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME, PARTICULARLY WHEN COMING FROM THE MOUTHS OF MY CHILDREN.–Kate W. Hall, easily-annoyed mother-of-three
This isn’t much of a tirade, I just had to share how sad this word is when coming from the mouths of my children.
It’s a six-letter word that somehow makes me shudder, turns me sad–then angry, and it makes me worry excessively about where else they’ve said it, and whom they’ve said it to or about. Please not to a friend, a classmate, God forbid a teacher?
Stupid–the word–makes me about as angry as any curse word. It evokes a feeling of utter despair, like a punch in the gut or a kick to someone who’s already down. And while it can be funny or ironic in an adult conversation, in my world it has no place coming from the mouths of babes.
Stupid is not welcome in my home.
