Night Time Story: The Eyes in the Dark Forest

Deep in the woods, past the crooked path and the hollow tree, there was a clearing where no one dared to go.

Because something was watching.

Two glowing eyes. Always there. Always waiting.

Ronan first saw them as a child, peering through the trees. He ran home, breathless, his mother brushing off his fear. “Just an animal,” she said.

But the eyes never left.

But the eyes never left.

They were always there when he looked. Never blinking. Never moving closer.

Just… watching.

As he grew older, he tried to ignore them. Until one night, curiosity won.

He stepped into the clearing.

The air was heavy, thick with silence. His skin prickled. The eyes were waiting.

Slowly, he stepped forward. His breath caught.

They were not attached to anything.

Just two floating lights. No body. No shape.

Only eyes.

Ronan stumbled back. The eyes blinked—for the first time.

Then, they moved.

Closer.

The last thing he heard was the rustling of leaves—right behind him.
