Night Time Story: The Ghost Who Told Bedtime Stories

Every child in the village knew the legend.
If you left your window open on a quiet night, a ghost might visit and whisper a bedtime story just for you.
Most believed it was just a tale.
Until one night, Lottie left her window open.
The air grew cold, and a soft voice filled the room. “Shall I tell you a story?”
Lottie trembled but nodded.
The ghost spoke of a girl who wandered too far into the woods and never returned. Of a boy who ignored a warning and vanished without a trace.
By the end, Lottie’s hands were ice-cold. “Who were they?” she asked.
The ghost sighed. “No one remembers them. I only tell stories of those who are about to be forgotten.”
Lottie’s heart skipped. “What do you mean?”
The ghost drifted closer, its voice barely a whisper.
“Tomorrow, they will search for you.”
The window slammed shut.
Lottie never woke up.
And the next night, the ghost told another bedtime story.
